"... 'Don't be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.'
by John D. Rockerfeller is a quote that I have grown to love because of the amazing potential and talent I see in every student. As a school counselor for fourteen years, I have learned so much from the students I see day to day. I continue to allow myself to be an evolving learner. To receive knowledge that can be utilized to create something good to great is one of life's most precious gifts. The challenges and setbacks many face are the groundwork for amazing comebacks and success stories. I am proud and humble to be serving as School Counselor at Gage Park High School. I have worked with students from all grades, K-12. I am Southsider of Chicago who attended University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), earning a B.A in Psychology and earned two Master's degrees from Saint Xavier University in Counseling Psychology and School Counseling. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2002 starting my counseling practice as a Clinician at a non-profit organization working with children and families who were involved in DCFS. Outside of Gage Park HS, I can be seen as a "soccer mom", "baseball mom", "dance mom" and a cheerleader for my kids' various weekly/weekend activities. I enjoy traveling to new places and appreciating great life moments. It is a pleasure to be here at Gage working, collaborating and being there for the Gage Park family.
