Currently enGAGEd in my seventh year teaching in Chicago, I teach Civics to juniors and seniors. It's an exciting year to teach civics, with the tumultuous election and other hot topics in current events. I'm eager to inspire my students to make a positive difference in this world, to make it a better place by fulfilling their civic duties and beyond. Preparing my students to be successful on the SAT and choose a suitable college and career worth pursuing are always high on my list of goals. In addition, starting a school newspaper and student council at Gage Park should be exciting endeavors for our future leaders of America.
With a master's degree in teaching and learning secondary social studies from DePaul University, and a B.A. from Purdue in History, with Communications, Spanish, and Psychology, I've taught world history, Spanish, and language arts as well as worked as editor for an educational publisher of maps and atlases. I recently got married in August, enjoy playing basketball, traveling the world, and have a passion for live music. We have a beautiful daughter named Harriet, our Boston Terrier.
