Freshman Seminar Class

My name is Miguel Davis and I have been teaching for the past 25 years.  I have a B.S. degree in Finance from U.I.C., I have a M.S. degree in Curriculum & Instruction from DePaul University and I have a M.ED in Educational Leadership from Chicago State University.

I've taught at Jones High School for 7 years, Farragut Career Academy for 1 year and I have been at Gage Park High School since 2000.  I generally teach English classes to freshmen through seniors, but recently I am teaching a course named Freshman Seminar.  The curriculum is from UMOJA Corporation and it focuses on social emotional learning.  I also work with a Service Learning Organization, BuildOn.  This organization focuses on Community Service and making this world a better place.

I believe that we live in a challenging world.  My mission is to expose the students to the many possibilities and culture that this world has to offer in order to achieve success.
