RISE Academy
Resources Invested in School Enrichment

Frida Kahlo Community Organization, in partnership with 5 local elementary and 2 high schools, is excited to be part of RISE Academy, a five-year grant program from the Illinois State Board of Education and U.S. Department of Education.
Through RISE, our students, parents, and school-community families have access to the following year-round services:
  • After-school student enrichment classes focusing on the arts (dance, visual art, music and drama), fitness, science, homework and academic support.
  • Computer Technology and English as a Second Language classes for parents and community members.
  • Parent workshops in the areas of parental involvement, at-home student academic support, personal development, the cultural arts, and leadership.
  • Family events focusing on math, science, health, literacy, and the arts.
  • Family field trips to a variety of Chicagoland locations, including museums, zoos, parks, and other places of fun learning.

Through these many activities, it is RISE Academy’s objective to support students, parents, and community members in their academic and personal growth. Creating an involved, informed, and empowered school community is our ultimate goal.
We encourage you to help us reach our goals through your participation.
